Green-Up Saida

July 1, 2018 By Marwan El Khatib

In 2018, Blue Mission developed an environmental initiative in the Greater Saida area to promote eco-consciousness in the community and empower youth to create sustainable, eco-friendly solutions to enduring deficiencies in social services like waste disposal.  The initiative was designed to meet the objectives of the National Volunteer Service Program (administered by the Ministry of Social Affairs) which aims to promote civic engagement among youth with programs that promote social stability and delivery needed services to vulnerable Lebanese communities that host Syrian refugees.  The program was part of Blue Mission’s vision of creating a movement of Lebanese and Syrian youth committed to preserving the integrity and natural beauty of the Mediterranean coast and green spaces in the Greater Saida Area.
